The Best of Oscars’2018 Jewels
Compared to the Golden Globes, the Oscars 2018 was a far more colorful event. Although badges reading “Times Up” and “Never Again” were ubiquitous, the celebs took a more cheerful approach to dressing for the evening this time. Oscars 2018 marked the 90
th year of the awards which in itself was a reason to celebrate. To put a cherry on top, this year, the nominations were also some of the best pictures and performances in recent years. That apart, the night shone bright with the adornments of celebrities. Put together, the Oscars 2018 was in every way what its attendees and guests expected it to be.
Going straight into jewelries, baubles from the house of Harry Winston, Fred Leighton and the likes stole the show completely. Fashion houses like Chopard and Piaget have generously donated fineries which the celebs walked in on the red carpet amidst blinding flashes of cameras. As much as one would like to write something to all the beautiful jewelries that were spotted at the Oscars, time and space is only limited. So, let’s get down to the highlights of the evening.
Sally Hawkins’s Chopard Suite
Starting with one of the strongest nominees for the Best Actress Award, Sally Hawkins totally stole our hearts with a very elegant collection of jewelries. The actress wore a full set of bedazzling Chopard jewelries which include earrings decorated with 11.69 carats of pink quartz shaped like pearls, 1.96 carats of pink and 2.48 carats of rubellites and lastly, 1.37 carats of scintillating white diamonds, all engraved in spectacular 18K white gold shells. The earrings came from the special Temptation Collection from Chopard. In addition to that, she paired her shimmering silver gown with a dramatic platinum and 18K rose gold ring that wore a big 3.44 carat brownish pink diamond. Aside the center stone, the ring carried pink and white diamonds.
Meryl Streep’s Fred Leighton Gold and Diamonds
If the first thing you noticed about Meryl Streep at the Oscars this year is her spectacular red gown and of course her unmatchable grace, then you have missed out on some real gold. The actress wore a set of jewelries from the label of Fred Leighton which was a perfect match for her flaming red gown. She wore a pair of yellow gold dart earrings that were beset with diamonds, and if you are curious about the cut, its old-mine, so essentially vintage. To pair that up, the actress wore a swoon-worthy gold bangle bracelet which too had some serious sparklers on it.
Allison Janney’s Forevermark Diamonds
Although it would be a crying shame to miss out on other magnificent jewelries that wowed the crowd at the Oscars, Allison Janney’s Riviera necklace deserves a special mention. Carrying 55.26 carats of white diamonds set in platinum, the neckpiece designed by Rahaminov was quite an eyeful. Other jewelries she wore that evening are a diamond ring, diamond studs, and diamond line bracelets. Together, her jewelries carried 125 carats of diamonds, all from Forevermark.
