Grammy Award nominee Cardi B got engaged to Migos’ Offset late 2017, and the engagement ring that she debuted soon after only weighed in on this notion. Although the details of the ring didn’t surface immediately after, but by the turn of the year everybody knew that its half a million dollar ring, which Cardi B herself confirmed in an interview, when she joked, “Even when we’re in an argument…I’m like does he really love me? He got me a half-million dollar ring, yeah he does.”
Zooming in on the scandalously expensive artefact of engagement, it’s a massive diamond sparkler. The star of the piece is the boastfully big 8 carat diamond the shape of a tear drop. The pear-cut diamond goes on to confirm Hollywood’s obsession with this particular cut of diamonds recently. After Paris Hilton and Sophie Turner went the same route, that truth is about established for now. Getting back to Cardi B’s sparkler, an up close view reveals that the ring is a cosmetic wonder, in that it dazzles by the fire in the rock as well as the luxe design.
The 8 carat pear-cut rock is not the only diamond on this piece. Outlining the brilliant diamond at the center are two rows of micro-diamonds that form a double halo around it. While the central diamond shines with all its might, the outer halo lights up the ring with a starry glitter which only enhances the beauty of the stone. The ring is heavily accessorized with diamonds on the band. It is accented by two D shaped diamonds that flank the sides. The rest of the band is practically hidden by the show of glitter and glamor. So, it may not be entirely wrong to say that the ring is half gems and half metal.
In total the ring carries 12 and a half carats of diamond. While the shiny rock at the center weighs a whopping 8 carat, the surrounding smaller pear-cut stones weigh a total of 2 and a half carat. The rest of the white and pink stones together come to 2 carats more. Sizzling and shimmering with white diamonds with a touch of pink blush, Cardi’s engagement ring is surely a thing to envy.
Offset got down on one knee to propose to one of our favorite rappers onstage at the Power 99’s Powerhouse concert which took place in Philadelphia. The rapper gave an emphatic yes and the two got engaged in front of a hall full of live audience. The two had been dating for a year before they got engaged. Hours later, Cardi B made the news viral by posting pictures of herself flashing her $550K engagement ring on Instagram.
