Zoë Kravitz is officially off the market. The actress has been secretly engaged to her fiancé Karl Glusman and if that’s news to you, that’s because the two have done a good job keeping it a secret. Kravitz has been subtly wearing a diamond ring all this time, but luckily it didn’t catch anyone’s attention. Only recently, we came to know that the diamond ring that she has been pairing with all her dresses is the engagement ring she got from Glusman. At Met Gala this year, the actress flashed her engagement bauble for the first time making it clear to everyone that she is officially engaged.
The actress walked around in a racy black, all-lace dress in which she looked absolutely stunning. She accessorized her outfit with a pair of giant-size drop earrings, and a diamond ring on her left hand. In her Instagram photo which was taken before the evening started, she posed with the diamond ring in full view. Zooming into the photo reveals a dainty and beautiful gold ring that is grand and subtle both at the same time. The ring is a perfect match to Kravitz’s taste in jewelry which is always delicate, but hard to miss.
Some information about the ring came our way within a few days. According to them, the ring is vintage. It is curated by the NYC based store The One I Love which specializes in both modern and antique jewelries. Mia Moross, the proprietor of the store herself involved in the making the ring. She worked with Glusman and Kravitz to craft the perfect ring for them. For her part, Kravitz went for something which is both original and “extremely rare”. The diamond chosen for the ring isn’t over sized either which helped preserve the antique charm of the ring. Its pristine nature is complimented by the choice of diamond.
When interviewed, the store let the media in on a few details about the ring. In their words, the ring is an “18th Century diamond half loop”. Although it looks like a solitaire at the first glance, it is not so. The ring features a line of collcet-set diamonds that are all rose-cut which is the quint-essential vintage cut. The gems are all set in a closed back arrangement on gold which is topped with silver. The effect is a rich and mesmerizing smoky hue which is unique to vintage pieces.
The design of the ring is reflective of the time it is imported from. The craftsmanship of the ring as Moross says is “impeccable”. All the diamonds used in the ring are hand-cut and the ring hand-crafted, something that is so evident in the finish of the ring. Although the diamonds may appear gigantic at first, the stones used come together to produce a very glamorous effect. Together, they give the stone a pretty sizable mass. We still don’t know if they have set a date for the marriage, but we are looking out for a second ring on her finger subtly hinting at matrimony.
