At an event like the Golden Globes, haute couture dressing rules. From the time the lights go on, it’s the fashion designers that stand under the spotlight, their gowns and tuxes scrutinized, their creativity lauded. But we all know that red carpet dressing alone is not the star of the event. No outfit is complete without the master stroke of jewelries, and this year, it was diamonds. The red carpet dazzled and shimmered with sparklers of all shapes and sizes. From bib necklaces to statement-making drop earrings, the Golden Globes evening was riddled with gems and jewelries this year that turned heads and dropped jaws. Let’s take a look at some of the best jewelries from the evening.
Tiffany & Co. Diamonds
Lady Gaga turned the evening up with her dyed silver hair and matching gown, both of which was complimented with a stunning Tiffany & Co suite of diamond jewelries. The singer-cum-actress wore Tiffany Aurora diamonds necklace which featured more than 300 shimmering diamonds. Hanging from the swoon-worthy necklace was a supersize diamond pendant, a pear-cut diamond weighing 20 carats. The singer paired it with matching stud earrings.
Bulgari Chandelier Earrings
Lupita Nyong’o dressed boldly, but beautifully for the evening. Her cobalt blue kohl and matching shimmy dress are only one of the things that stood her out in the red market. The actress went easy on jewelries by donning only a pair of Bulgar chandelier earrings. Encrusted with diamonds, the earrings dialed up the shimmer and sparkle of the outfit by many notches.
Forevermark’s Statement Earrings
Sandra Oh went to the Golden Globe wearing a very sophisticated gown with fan-like sleeves that wowed the audience. But the real star of the show was her set of diamond and platinum earrings that made cameras follow her around. The seashell earrings that perfectly matched her spectacular gown is from Forevermark Diamonds.
Riviera Neck piece by Roberto Coin
We all looked forward to seeing another awe-inspiring piece on Taraji P. Henson this year, and she didn’t disappoint. Just as promised, the actress turned up at the Golden Globes looking like a million buck. She wore a velvet green gown with plunging neckline and coupled it with a flourish of diamonds from Roberto Coin. It was a brilliant show of diamonds and platinum.
Sidney Garben Pearls
While the rest of the crowd leaned towards gemstones, Judith Light went for pearls. Her high neck, full sleeve, form fitting gown with its long train was an instant attraction, but the tangle of pearl necklaces of varying lengths that hung from her neck were the envy of all.
Chopard Drop Earrings
Julia Roberts shone in her beige one-shoulder gown. The actress wore her honey blond hair down which perfectly complimented her gown. With a nude makeup, she wore only a pair of earrings. The piece was a signature pick from the house of Chopard, a pair of double drop earrings that features twin lines of pear-cut diamonds that come cascading down in a linear form.
