Jeannie Mai and Rapper Jeezy Announces Their “Surprise Quarantine” Engagement
The Coronavirus pandemic isn’t the best phase of our lives, and most would agree. But for some, it’s a time they will look back with fondness and cheer. Rapper Jeezy and his girlfriend Jeannie Mai are two of those people. The couple who were quarantining together took the opportunity to get engaged.
Jeezy, 42, popped the big question to Jeanie May, 41 after two years of dating. The rapper had plans for a romantic engagement but the global crisis got in the way and he had to defer it from the time he had originally planned to propose. However, there is only so much a person with a purpose can wait. So, notwithstanding their postponed romantic vacation, he transformed his home in Los Angeles into a Vietnamese nook. Taking Mai by surprise, he popped the big question with a dazzling engagement ring.
The couple later announced their engagement on social media. She posted a photo of the two of them in their patio, captioned, “I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my life loving you...YES [ring emoji]”
Mai’s spokesperson told the media, “Jeannie and Jay were set for a trip to Vietnam this April. What Jeannie didn't know is that Jay was planning to propose.”
Now Jeannie and Jeezy are a power couple and their engagement got wide publicity across the country and outside. However, what made an equal, if not a bigger splash is the engagement ring. Jeezy chose a spectacular, swoon-worthy ring to take their relationship to the next level, and it reportedly cost him an astronomical sum of money.
In case you haven’t seen Mai’s ring, it’s a massive bling, and from the looks of it, the rapper didn’t skimp in his choice of artefact to express his love for his lady. Although specific details about the ring are still MIA, experts are of the opinion that the ring has an estimated worth of $150, 000 or more.
Pictures of the ring widely circulated on tabloids and the Internet show a dazzling Marquise cut diamond ring with a paved band. The ring’s center stone, according to Olivia Landau of E! News, is at least 4 to 5 Carats. Up close, the paved band appears to feature a tiny emerald in the midst of a thick diamond pave work.
