Sports Illustrated model Kate Bock is now engaged to her longtime NBA superstar boyfriend Kevin Love. Early this month, the couple shared the big news on social media and took everybody by surprise. A shocked Kate shared details of the romantic proposal with a picture offering a glimpse of the gorgeous bling that sealed the deal.
The two have been together for many years now and was public about their relationship. However, there was no hearsay about a proposal. Recently, Kate Bock, 33 bagged the coveted offer to model for the cover of Sports Illustrated swimsuit. But little did she know that another special moment will follow soon after. Kate described her reaction to the basketball star’s proposal as “completely surprised”.
The sportsman, 32, popped the question Saturday, at a restaurant during a private dining in Brooklyn. The proposal as confirmed by the receiver was a romantic one. Love picked out a dazzling engagement ring to make the proposal and as soon as the picture was out on the Internet, the world nodded in admiration.
The bling in question is a vintage diamond ring from the house of Cartier. Dated back to the 1930s, the jewelry features a jaw-dropping vintage cut diamond sitting atop a vintage Cartier setting. The ring was not a shelf pick but a custom-made one which her now-fiancé designed together with a jeweler based out of London.
The ring as you’d know the moment you see it is a chic piece of jewelry exhibiting fine craftsmanship and tasteful design. However, the price and carat size are still unknown. Jewelers around the world who have some experience in judging the size and price of a diamond by looking at took shots at guesstimating it’s worth and weight.
Kathryn Money of Brilliant Earth estimated the price of the ring to be somewhere between $50, 000 and $100, 000. CEO of The Diamond Pro, Mike Fried opined that his estimate for the price of the ring would be above a $100, 000.
Whatever the price of the sparkler is, Bock cannot stop gushing over her boyfriend’s super-romantic stunt. The two are happily engaged and enjoying this moment for now. A wedding might be in order very soon or later this year, but for now, the two are living every moment of their engagement planning the future ahead of them.
