The Bests of Red Carpet Jewelry That Made History

The gala evenings of Hollywoodare casually starry with glitterati from the cinema franchise gracing the events. It’s not just the ladies in their cynically pricey, jaw dropping gowns anddesigner smiles and dishy men in their tuxedos that dazzle the event. It is theactresses and behind-the-scene ladies sizzling in their million dollar diamond jewelries that make the first logs in the journalists’ workdiaries. Oscars and other such award ceremonies make the perfect excuse forcelebrities to make appearances in their bests, and that include the crownjewels from their vaults.

Here are some spectacularspecimen of high jewelry that were spotted and snapped in the actors’ redcarpet events in the past years.

Harry Winston Diamond Chain Necklace

In the 88th AcademyAwards, our Miss. Best Smile Charlize Theron arrived wearing a long chain ofwhat appeared to be all D flawless diamonds down her bare neck. The chain fellto her abs reaching down through the slit of the splice neckline of her gown.Worth $3.7 million, this necklace was one from Harry Winston’s cluster diamondcollection. Shimmering from their settings, the necklace uses 15.49 carats of cushioncut diamond set in micro pave throughout. Curved in platinum, the chain wasattached to a perfectly sized pendant of floral accent. The cluster diamondpendant had a small flower on the top hanging from which was the bigger, moreintricate diamond flower. It ended with a diamond droplet dancing from thelower loop. Theron paired it up with matching earrings and a finger ring, bothreflecting the theme of her bedazzling pendant.

Bulgari Diamond Neckpiece

Bulgari, the celebrity jewelrydesigner from Italy is known for his taste in rich and luxury. His collectionsare all luxury, as was one adorning the bare sculpted neck of Naomi Watts inthe same award ceremony. Watts walked in a psychedelic strapless shoulder mermaiddress. Equally dramatic was the neckpiece that smugly shimmered from around herneck sending the crowd in a frenzied wow. The necklace had a natural theme ofleaves, with the detailing of leaf veins adding greater finesse to the piece. The necklace is out and out encrusted in shimmery colorless diamonds. Not muchabout the details of the necklace could be obtained through visualintrospection. So, while the worth and specifics remain a mystery, the necklacemake for a lingering visual in our minds.

Diamond Drop Earrings and Starfish Cuff

The obsession for perfectionnever seem to fade in actresses. Cate Blanchett brought with her ever soperfectly youthful looks some of the most stunning Tiffany & Co. bluebookitems. The actress walked the carpet in large diamond and platinum dropearrings that turned heads. She paired it with a diamond starfish cuff whichwas again as rare as her taste. She completed the ensemble with a round-cut diamond ring which was about 2.30carat in weight. Little can be done to dim the glow ofTiffany & Co. jewelry.
